CSV in, clean CSV out — both directions covered

CSV is still how most product data moves, and InventaCloud treats it as a first-class citizen in both directions. Import vendor CSVs in any column layout — uploaded directly or dropped on FTP for automation — and deliver clean, consistent CSV catalog feeds that resellers and downstream systems can consume without asking questions.

How CSV works here

  1. Import: send the file as-is Upload a CSV directly, or deliver it through FTP where configured. AI Catalog Mapping reads the columns and maps them to your schema — no template to fill.
  2. Validate before anything ships Each row passes your import rules; malformed rows land in a precise error report instead of your catalog.
  3. Shaped by Catalog Rules Each catalog's rules apply its products and pricing, so the file a reseller downloads already reflects their catalog's terms.
  4. Export: deliver clean feeds Resellers pull current catalog data from their portal on demand (Excel or JSON) — always reflecting your latest published data.

Why teams use it

Works with everything

Every ERP, storefront, and spreadsheet on earth speaks CSV. It's the universal adapter for partners without APIs.

Layout chaos handled

Semicolons, odd headers, extra columns — the mapping layer absorbs vendor quirks so downstream consumers see one consistent format.

Automation-ready

Inbound CSVs can be delivered through FTP where configured; outbound reseller downloads (Excel or JSON) are generated from your current published catalog, so nobody re-sends files.

Validated, not just parsed

A CSV that parses isn't a CSV that's correct. Field standards and row validation catch wrong-but-well-formed data.

Good to know

Refresh behavior

Send an updated CSV and change detection works out what's new, changed, or discontinued; catalogs rebuild after the update is applied, and every reseller's portal view, next download, and feed reflects it. Replacement files are checked against previously mapped columns first.

Failure handling

Processing status is visible while an import runs, and problems arrive as a per-row report — which rows, which fields, what to fix. Valid rows are never held hostage by broken ones.

Common questions

Do you support Excel files too, or only CSV?

Both on the import side — XLS and XLSX imports work the same way as CSV, with the same AI mapping and validation. On the reseller side, catalog downloads come as Excel (.xlsx) or JSON, and inventory exports as CSV, Excel, or JSON.

Can resellers get catalog data formatted for their system?

Reseller downloads come pre-tailored by Catalog Rules — their products, their pricing — as clean Excel or JSON files with a consistent column layout that imports cleanly into standard tools.

How fresh is a downloaded file?

It's generated from your current published catalog, so it always reflects your latest data — no nightly export lag, no stale files floating around.
